Beliefs & Outcomes

The Debate Club develops confident communicators and critical thinkers. Guided by teachers and coaches, junior debaters build foundations, while senior members master strategies and complex issues. Through training and competition, students learn to think on their feet, construct persuasive arguments and respond logically to opposing views.

The club enjoyed an outstanding 2026. Our team emerged as Plate Champions at the Singapore Secondary Schools Debating Championships, Division I. Daniel Elijah Martin (4E1) ranked among the Top 20 Best Speakers, while Dylan Ong Pang Siang (4E1) placed among the Top 10.

Members also organised and competed in the inaugural Montfortian Gabrielite Education Institutions Debate Tournament, engaging teams from Montfort Secondary School and Assumption English School while forging meaningful connections with fellow debaters.
