Red Cross Youth
Find out about the Red Cross Youth unit at St. Gabriel's Secondary School, its proud history, recent achievements, and weekly training schedule.
Beliefs & Outcomes
The Red Cross Youth Unit believes in nurturing confident, responsible and compassionate leaders through practical training, service and learning experiences. Cadets develop first-aid skills, including bandaging, CPR, using an Automated External Defibrillator and conducting emergency evacuations, equipping them to respond calmly and effectively during emergencies.
Through Combined Inter-Unit activities, cadets led first-aid lessons using demonstrations and instructional videos, strengthening their confidence, communication and teaching abilities. Selected members developed their expertise through the Unit Specialist Programme.
A learning journey to the National Blood Bank deepened cadets’ understanding of blood donation and inspired social responsibility. Members attained Silver and Bronze Youth Ambassador Blood Programme badges, alongside Red Cross Knowledge Fundamental and First Aid badges, demonstrating perseverance, discipline and commitment to continuous improvement.
